You may remember Matt & Lauren from their outdoor engagement session I posted earlier this year. They are a fun loving down to earth couple who both enjoy anything that has to do with the outdoors. You can see this theme of nature and adventure all throughout their wedding day, and it was just delightful to photograph.
There was no shortage of emotions on their day either. There was an emotional first look at Sherman Falls, which was so humbling to watch. I love first looks so much and I must say that it definitely does not change how emotional it is during the ceremony, as you’ll see in the photographs below. Matt & Lauren’s families were both involved in the ceremony and many other aspects of the day – like the cake stand that Matt & his father made together.
The Governor’s room at the Ancaster Mill was set up beautifully for their reception. Home made pesto was placed at every table setting, made by none other than the bride and groom themselves. Now every wedding has their rules they come up with for the bride and groom to kiss, but I especially like the way Matt & Lauren did it. It was a game of risk where you pulled a piece of paper that gave you instructions to perform a task such as ‘Kiss someone like you want the bride and groom to kiss’ or ‘Build a human pyramid’ – which was my personal favourite as I have never photographed that before at a wedding!
After a delicious dinner, and the father/daughter and mother/son dance, guests were invited out onto the dance floor and they definitely tore it up! Everyone was dancing non stop and the energy levels were so high celebrating these two lovebirds and their beautiful wedding day.
Congrats again Matt & Lauren!
