Summer Archeo Wedding
Getting married on one of the hottest and haziest days of the year isn’t very easy, but Mike & Michelle pulled it off without a hitch at their summer Archeo Wedding! Getting ready at the Westin Harbour Castle hotel, I watched as they both read their cards from one another, and opened their sentimental gifts. Mike put together a frame for Michelle that had the coordinates of where they met, where they got engaged and then where they were getting married. I definitely held back my tears..! There were so many little personal touches to their wedding day and it was such a dream to photograph.
Michelle had a whole limo to herself on the way to the Distillery District for her first look with Mike just a hop away from Archeo – where they would later have their outdoor summer ceremony & reception. We had so much time for photos (woo for me!), so we checked out Polson Pier and also Cherry beach for portraits of the two of them. Now Polson Pier is a great spot to take photos because you can get the Toronto skyline in the background but, since it was SO hazy.. you can only see a faint outline of everything and I think it actually looks pretty cool! Cherry Beach was incredibly dreamy.. the trees and the hazy light made for some of my favourite photographs of the day with Michelle & Mike. You guys were seriously amazing.
Archeo outdoor wedding ceremony
The ceremony at Archeo was beautiful and full of emotion, especially when Michelle’s sister sang while they were signing the registry. What a lovely voice! You could see how proud their father was watching one of his daughters sing, and one get married.
I don’t think anyone in Toronto is a stranger to the Love Lock sign in the Distillery, so that’s where we headed next so Michelle & Mike could put their engraved lock onto the sign. The reception inside Archeo was set up in such a simple and beautiful way, with a buffet style dinner with some seriously good food. I’d eat that ravioli any day! They also had a popcorn bar and a candy bar so I think everyone was pretty much in heaven.
Mike & Michelle also now share their wedding anniversary with Michelle’s grandparents which was July 8th, 1944. Her grandpa was there with the original certificate of marriage as well. It was so sweet!
It was raining that evening, but that didn’t stop us from heading outside for some fun sparkler shots! My fave!
Congrats again you two – your day was perfect! xox
Also, here’s a link to their wedding video – so good!!
