Lake Kelso Engagement – Kim & Kyle

Kim & Kyle. These two are such a sweet down to earth couple, and I was so thrilled to shoot their engagement session. During our first meeting together, camping and canoeing came up, and my eyes lit up since I had this red canoe from my cottage. I’ve been wanting to use it for a session for 2 years now, and this was my chance.

Thankfully the weather in October really held up for all of my sessions and especially this one since we were going to be on the water! We visited two lakes during their session. The first being the one that Kyle proposed at – how incredibly sweet. We took pictures at the very spot he proposed, and then we took a nice little stroll around the lake taking photographs along the way.

The second was Lake Kelso since we could take my canoe out on the water. The colours of the trees were sooo beautiful and it was a photographer’s dream! A cute couple in love, orange, red & and gold leaves everywhere and a canoe on the water. Oh melt my heart..!

We were actually REALLY lucky that day! Kelso Conservation Area was going to close the day before because of the weather – but they didn’t. We totally lucked out!! After our amazing day together, they helped me put my canoe back on top of my car and here I am fiddling with the ropes.. I’m not very good at that stuff. The night before it took me an hour to get the canoe on (embarrassing yes..)!! But then – Kim just tied it down so darn secure in I kid you not… 5 minutes. Wow! I drove him with the biggest smile on my face!

Kim & Kyle, you guys are so amazing and I can not wait for your December wedding!!
