Toronto City Hall Wedding – Zaira & Chris

Toronto City Hall Wedding

Always wanted to see a Toronto City Hall wedding done differently? Well, you’ve come to the right place! Zaira & Chris gave me total freedom to help design the photo portion of their wedding day and it was one of my favourite weddings last year! Trust from a couple isn’t something I take lightly – I knew I needed to take them to some amazing spots.

Let’s start at the beginning of their Toronto City Hall wedding day though. Arriving in the morning, Zaira & Chris’ home was the perfect for me to photograph her in. There was light flooding in, and it was nice and tidy with room for us at all move around. Super important tip – having nice light in your getting ready area will help with bright and light photographs! Her flowers from Derêves Floral were to die for and they matched perfectly with the interior of the space which was a nice little perk! Chris had written a sweet little note to Zaira that I found, and I decided it would be the sweetest little accent to the photos with all of her details in it.

First look at Toronto City Hall

Gosh, I just love me a good first look! Zaira & Chris’ took place outside of the entry to their ceremony at the Toronto City Hall. I love it up there because of the quality of light and how it reflects off the cement and windows. Their first look was emotional and I definitely had to hold back my own tears too! They also did a first look with Chris’ daughter which was the sweetest thing ever – she was his best man! Umm – how cute is that?! After their emotional ceremony we went outside for family photos up top, and also took some wedding party photographs.

Unique wedding photo spots in Toronto

When you’re given total freedom for spots to take your couple for photos on their wedding day.. well you kinda gotta go all out! I reached out to Unzipped Toronto and they let us go in on the wedding day to take photographs at this magical installment! The light was perfect, and there were tons of people there as it was a Saturday – but you can’t even tell right? Ya.. that’s what happens when people are nice, you are nice and your photographer has the right amount of assertiveness! After Unzipped Toronto, we headed over to this lil spot I have always wanted to take photographs of a couple at. I think you know what photo it is!

Where to have your reception after an intimate Toronto City Hall wedding?

These two opted for a sweet little space called the The Lodge on Queen for their wedding reception. People enjoyed a lovely dinner, played pool and just hung out together. It was like a big ol’ party and the bridesmaids even put together a special dance for the couple which had everyone laughing and smiling. The energy was high and the couple was surrounded by the closest people to them. Zaira & Chris planned their wedding day their way, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Thanks for trusting me you two, and congrats again to you both!
